The research presented in these two documents was funded by VicHealth and prepared by the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research (CAPR) and sought to explore how participation in Hello Sunday Morning (HSM) impacted on drinking behaviour among Victorians. Key findings show that HSM is likely to be an effective mechanism for reducing an individual’s drinking, and for changing the way that people think about alcohol. HSM users reported significant benefits from participating in the program. And although barriers to abstaining from alcohol were identified, data shows that HSM users were able to overcome them by drawing on a number of effective strategies.
