It is anticipated that with population growth and environmental changes, the carrying capacity and diversity of products available through the food system will be affected, and this in turn will impact on the food and health of the Victorian population.

This project will improve understanding of risk and vulnerabilities (and the impact of different policy responses) on Victoria's food supplies through the demonstration of an empirical method of testing scenarios using the CSIRO Stocks and Flows Framework model. This involves an innovative partnership between Melbourne and Deakin Universities, CSIRO and the Department of Planning and Community Development. An interdisciplinary approach will provide much needed information promoting the best scenario for sustainable quality food supply for healthy eating.
