A suite of practical tools and how-to guides to prevent violence against women before it occurs.
Designed to assist local governments, workplaces, maternal child health, faith-based, youth and other agencies to promote respect and build equality in their communities.
The following resources are the outcome of significant investment into the primary prevention of violence against women through the Respect, Responsibility and Equality program.

Working together against violence
Women’s Health Victoria has developed a guide to preventing violence against women within workplaces. Drawing on their experience with developing the Take a Stand program the guide outlines strategies for engaging staff, managers and leaders, sample policies, and training tips. Those interested in the guide can also register for training sessions delivered by WHV.
Partners in Prevention
Partners in Prevention (PiP) is a networking and capacity building project for community sector professionals working with young people to promote respectful relationships. The Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria’s experience of initiating, fostering and growing the network has been captured in an online ‘wiki.’ WikiPiP contains information on forming and developing a community of practice.
Baby Makes 3
Baby Makes 3 addresses the issue of gender equality within relationships for first-time parents. Whitehorse Community Health Service has produced a step by step guide to coordinating the program, integrating it into existing maternal child health services and building partnerships and policies to support the program over the long term.

Respect and Equity: Preventing violence against women
Maribyrnong City Council have created a guide for local government organisations to build a whole-of-organisation culture change program to create a safer community for women. The guide is based on Maribyrnong Council’s experience integrating the prevention of violence against women into their core business through policies, programs and practices.

Northern Interfaith Respectful Relationships
The Northern Interfaith Respectful Relationships project has produced a manual and toolkit to guide faith communities through a process of deepening commitment to the primary prevention of violence against women. The toolkit is based the NiRR project’s work with faith leaders to examine values, develop policies, programs and communication strategies to foster respectful violence-free relationships.
